[. . . ] F-1 Utility - Editor Owner's Manual Thank you for using the EDIROL F-1 Video Field Recorder. This document describes operations of the the F-1 Utility software for the EDIROL F-1. This software allows you to quickly and easily perform cut editing for materials you recorded on F-1. For details on installation, refer to the separately downloaded "Installation" PDF. Place the first piece of material on the main video track Drag and drop the first material (whose In point you specified) onto the main video track. fig. drag-Aclip. eps 3. If you mistakenly click the delete button at this time, the subsequent video will move toward the left, causing the timing of the two video images to be incorrect. By repeating this operation you can create the effect of switching between two cameras. fig. lift-insert. eps 31 Using tracks other than the main video track Using the picture track F-1 Utility - Editor is able to load photos taken with a digital camera or graphics created by a computer. These still images are referred to as "pictures, " and can be placed on the dedicated picture track. The pictures are shown overlaid on top of the main and insert video. fig. track-concept. eps About pictures Photos taken by a digital camera or graphics created by a computer (. jpg files) can be imported into the picture tab of the material palette. fig. picture-tab. eps 32 Using tracks other than the main video track About the picture setting dialog box When you double-click an icon in the picture tab of the material palette, the following dialog box will appear. fig. picture-setup. eps 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1. Preview screen Here you can preview the position and size at which the picture will appear in the screen. Size This indicates the currently specified picture size in terms of a number of pixels. Position This indicates the distance from the top left corner of the screen in pixels. Match size buttons These buttons automatically set the vertical or horizontal size of the picture to match the size of the full screen. "Original size" button This button shows the picture at its original size (pixel count). Keep aspect ratio check box If this check box is selected, the picture's original aspect ratio will be preserved even if you drag the mouse to adjust the picture's size. If this is not selected, dragging to change the picture's size may change its aspect ratio. Rotation You can use these buttons to rotate the picture. Length setting This specifies the length of the material. The units are hours:minutes:seconds:frames (H:M:S:F). Use the mouse to select the unit you want to change; it will be highlighted in red.
