This is a popular recording studio technique in which a vocalist records a melody, then overdubs a second performance of the same melody along with the first recording. When the two performances are played back together, it gives the effect of a thick and rich single voice. DELAY REVERB Produces an echo-like effect. Press the EXIT button to return to the Play screen. 12 Using Phrase Loop to Layer Your Voice You can use the ON/OFF pedal to control the Phrase Loop function. What is the Phrase Loop function? This function lets you record a monaural phrase of up to 38 seconds and play it repeatedly (i. e. , play it as a loop). You can also layer--or "overdub"--additional phrases with the first phrase. By layering different melody lines you can simulate an a cappella chorus by yourself, or use voice percussion to add rhythm phrases to your performance.
