[. . . ] n Press and hold the engine switch to the "O" or STOP position. To Remove Backpack Blower: n Move harness straps off the shoulders. n Grasp the straps and lower the blower to the ground. ENGINE SWITCH WARNING: Check for fuel leaks. If you find any leaks, correct the problem before using the product. WARNING: A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard and must be replaced immediately. NOTE: It is normal for smoke to be emitted from a new engine during first use. To start an engine that is cold or has run dry: n Fill the fuel tank, if necessary. Always use the proper oil/gasoline mixture. See "Mixing the Fuel" on page 10. To engage the cruise control / throttle lock: See Figure 9. n Pull cruise control lever back toward user, and stop at the desired throttle setting. n To release the cruise control, push cruise control lever all the way toward the front of unit. CRUISE CONTROL (THROTTLE LOCK) THROTTLE TRIGGER Fig. 9 12 MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. REPLACING AND CLEANING AIR FILTER See Figure 10. A wet or dirty air filter can affect the way the engine starts, performs, and wears. The air filter should be checked and cleaned after 8 hours of operation. If working in dusty soil, check the air filter after each refueling. For best performance, the air filter should be replaced once each year. To clean the air filter: n Loosen the knob on the air filter cover. n Lift the edge of the air filter carefully and peel it out. These warranty periods will begin on the date the non-road or small offroad engine is purchased by the initial purchaser.
