Shutter Speed Auto Manual Exit Submenu Items Items Auto Manual Use To let the camcorder automatically set the appropriate shutter speed value. Lets you set the shutter speed manually to 1/60, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, or 1/10000. On-screen display 1/XXX 2 Recording options Recommended shutter speed when recording: Shutter Speed Use For 1/60 Stationary or slow moving subjects. The black bands that usually appear when shooting a TV screen become narrower. 1/100 Indoor sports such as basketball. Do not aim at the sun. Doing so might cause your camcorder to malfunction. Take images of the sun only in low light conditions, such as at dusk. · The image may not seem smooth when you select a high shutter speed. · We recommmend higher shutter speeds for shooting a fast moving subjects. Note that higher shutter speeds produce a darker image. As the shutter speed increases, the sensor receives less light. Recording options EV (Exposure Value) The camcorder usually adjusts the exposure automatically. You can also manually adjust the exposure to your preference. Select the Record ( page 24 / ) mode by pressing the MODE button. Understanding EV(Exposure Value) Exposure value is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium (Image sensor) during the process of taking photos or videos. Higher quality images have a lower rate of compression, which usually results in a larger file size. Digital zoom A feature that artificially increases the amount of zoom available with zoom lens (Optical zoom).
