Storing Food Follow the recommendations below when storing food in the refrigerator. 1 Put food in containers with lids or in plastic bags or cover it with plastic film to prevent: x The food from drying up x Smells from permeating other items of food Allow hot food or drinks to cool before placing them in the refrigerator. Leave sufficient room between the items and in front of the ventilation slots to enable the cool air to circulate freely. Try and maintain easy access to the temperature dial in case you need to adjust the temperature. If you have washed any fruit or vegetables, dry them before storing them in the vegetable bin. 2 3 4 5 8 Using the Chiller Compartment Types A/B/E/F Only GB The chiller compartment freezes only the surface of the food to help: x Preserve the taste of the food x Prolong the freshness Use the chiller compartment to store cheese, meat, fish or any frozen food to be used quickly.
