High stage refrigerant passes through the low-stage oil sump to cool lubricating oil resulting in highstage compressor energy being used to minimize the workload on the low stage compressor. High Stage Compressor. The compressor pumps refrigerant through the high stage circuit. Air Cooled Pre-Condenser.
