Alarm engagement indicator ILLUMINATING LIGHT (Electroluminescent panel) B B Press in any mode. * The display panel is illuminated for 3 seconds. 9 English 10 NOTES ON USING THE WATCH TIME/CALENDAR MODE [TIME/CALENDAR SETTING] q The TIME or CALENDAR display is shown according to the digits/bars selected. q While the second digits are flashing, press button D in accordance with a time signal. The seconds are reset to "00". When the seconds read any number from "30" to "59" and button D is pressed, one minute is added and the seconds are reset to "00". q The flashing digits move quickly or the bars are lighted successively if button D is kept pressed. q When setting the hour digits, check that AM/PM is properly set. q If the watch is left untouched with the digits/bars flashing, it will automatically return to the TIME display in 1 to 2 minutes. q Note on unusual display: While setting the time/calendar, all the segments of the display will light up if both buttons C and D are pressed at the same time. Press button A, C or D to return to the TIME display, and then set the time/calendar again. ALARM MODE [ALARM TIME SETTING] q The flashing digits move quickly or the bars are lighted successively if button D is kept pressed. q When setting the hour digits, check that AM/PM is properly set. q If the watch is left untouched with the digits/bars flashing, it will automatically return to the ALARM display in 1 to 2 minutes. q Alarm test: The alarm can be tested by keeping button C pressed in the ALARM mode. After the alarm is tested, press button C to engage/disengage the alarm as desired. ILLUMINATING LIGHT (Electroluminescent panel) q The electroluminescent panel loses its luminance as the battery voltage decreases. Also, its luminance level decreases gradually with use. q When the illuminating light becomes dim, replace the battery with a new one. If the illuminating light remains dim after the battery is replaced, have the electroluminescent panel replaced with a new one by the retailer from whom the watch was purchased, or an AUTHORIZED SEIKO DEALER. q While the illuminating light is used, the watch gives out a slight noise. However, this is not a malfunction. English 11 BATTERY CHANGE English 3 Years The miniature battery which powers your watch should last approximately 3 years. However, because the battery is inserted at the factory to check the function and performance of the watch, its actual life once in your possession may be less than the specified period. When the battery expires, be sure to replace it as soon as possible to prevent any malfunction. For battery replacement, we recommend that you contact an AUTHORIZED SEIKO DEALER and request SEIKO CR2025 battery. * The battery life may be less than 3 years if the alarm is used for more than 10 seconds a day and/or the illuminating light more than once a day. WARNING q Do not remove the battery from the watch.
