Water container Important safety instructions Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance. This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications. Thermal safety cut-out The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without any water, or if the water container is calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down sufficiently, or must be descaled before it is switched on again. Before using for the first time To clean the kettle, boil and discard the first filling of water. Boiling water Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the appliance is switched on. - Remove the water container from its base. - Open the lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the Min. - Before closing the lid and placing the container back on its base, ensure that the appliance has not yet been switched on. - Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and press the On/Off switch. After reaching the boiling point, the appliance is automatically switched off by the integral steam cut-off device. - If you want to interrupt the boiling process, set the On/Off switch to its Off position. - To pour hot water, remove the container from its base. - To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains closed while pouring out the water. - Remove the plug from the wall outlet after use. - Do not leave any residual water in the container. Descaling Depending on the water quality in your 8 area, lime deposits may build up on the heating element. It is advisable to remove any such deposits at regular intervals. [. . . ] Guarantee This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
