In the stand-by position, power is being supplied to a drying heater within the optical system of the copier. Caution: For complete electrical disconnection, pull out the main plug. The START key indicators will light up. 2 5 8 0 3INTERRUPT 6 INTE CLEAR CLE CA AL ALL 9 PROGRAM CC 10 Enter the desired number of copies and press the COLOR COPY START ( ) key or BLACK COPY START ( ) key. q P CLEAR CL To cancel the COVERS function, select the COVERS function again and press the "CANCEL" key. 3-15 COLOR ADJUSTMENTS The color adjustments include the following items. q RGB adjust: Strengthens or weakens one of three primary colors, red (R), green (G), or blue (B). q Sharpness: Sharpens or softens image outlines. q Suppress background: Suppresses copying of lighter background areas. q Color balance: Adjusts the color, tone, and density of color copies. q Brightness/intensity/contrast: These adjust the level of brightness, intensity or contrast of images. RGB ADJUST This function can be used to strengthen or weaken the three primary colors, red (R), green (G), or blue (B). Only one primary color can be adjusted at a time. If a second primary color is adjusted, the first adjustment will be cancelled. (Refer to the samples on page 5 to see the effect on copy images in relation to the RGB ADJUST. ) CHAPTER3 SPECIAL FUNCTIONS Color adjustments 1 Place the original on the document glass or in the optional document feeder tray. [. . . ] Check that the cartridge locks in place by pulling it slightly. The cartridge holds 3, 000 staples. q NOTE: Be sure to remove the rear paper and tape before inserting the cartridge. 7-22 FINISHER (AR-FN4) 5 Remove the rear paper and tape from the cartridge. q Pull them straight. If they are pulled obliquely, the tape may be torn. 6 Insert the staple box into the stapler until it clicks in place. 7 Push the finisher toward the copier and latch it in place. q If the stapler does not work properly after cartridge installation, it may have a jammed staple in it. Staples for the finisher are available from your Sharp dealer. q CAUTION Use caution while latching the finisher into place. OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Finisher (AR-FN4) To prevent pinching your fingers, do not place your hand or fingers on the release lever while moving the finisher toward the copier. CHAPTER7 7-23 FINISHER (AR-FN4) Staple jam removal If staples become jammed in the stapler, the message "CHECK STAPLER POSITION OR STAPLE JAM" will appear. [. . . ]
