[. . . ] AR-NB2/AR-NB2 N Network expansion kit Online Manual (for network printer) AR-M160/M205 Start Click this "Start" button. Introduction The optional network expansion kit enables the machine to be used as a network printer. This manual explains the network printer functions that can be used when the network expansion kit is installed. To use the machine as a PS printer, the PS3 expansion kit (AR-PK1) must be installed. After installing the expansion kit, the product key (password) must be entered in "Product Key Setting" in the Web page (this is only required once). Please consult your dealer for the product key to be entered. G Note This manual refers to the digital multifunctional system AR-M160/M205 as "the machine". [. . . ] Note that if the "Auto tray switching" setting in the user programs is enabled and there is the same size of paper in another tray, the machine will automatically switch to the other tray and continue printing. When "Use close paper size" is disabled The PAPER SIZE indicator on the ORIGINAL PAPER SIZE SIZE operation panel will blink. You can press 11X17 the [TRAY SELECT] key ( ) to select a 8½X14 8½X11 tray manually, or load paper in the 8½X5½ 8½X11 bypass tray and press the [ON LINE] EXTRA key ( ) to begin printing. * The paper sizes that appear in the operation panel will vary by country and region. Pausing a print job To pause a print job during printing, press the [ON LINE] key ( ) on the operation panel to switch the machine off-line. Printing will be paused and the ON LINE indicator will blink. G To cancel a print job, press the [CLEAR] key ( ) or the [CLEAR ALL] key ( ). G To resume printing, press the [ON LINE] key ( ) to switch the machine online. When "Use close paper size" is enabled Printing will take place using a size of paper that is close to the size of the print image. Note When the dual function board is installed and the network expansion kit is connected to the machine's USB 2. 0 connector, the print image is automatically rotated to fit the paper in the event that the paper is loaded in an orientation different from the print image. CONTENTS INDEX 23 4 1 2 WEB PAGE IN THE MACHINE About the Web page (part 1) The network expansion kit includes a Web page. The Web page is accessed using a Web browser on your computer, and allows you to configure the machine's e-mail settings, settings for printing via e-mail, settings for direct printing by specification of a file on a computer, printer condition settings, and settings for sending e-mail to an administrator or dealer regarding machine usage and errors. Accessing Web pages Use the following procedure to access the Web pages. Changing the Web page language The language appearing in the Web page can be changed. Open the Web browser on your computer. Supported browsers:Internet Explorer 5. 5 or later Netscape Navigator 6. 0 or later 1 Click "Language Setting" in the menu frame. In the "Address" field of your Web browser, enter the IP address of the machine as a URL. Enter the IP address that has been programmed in the machine. 2 When the connection is completed, the Web page will appear in your Web browser. Select the desired language in the "Language Setting" menu and click "Submit". 3 CONTENTS INDEX Turn the machine power off and then on. The language appearing in the Web page will change to the selected language when the Web page is refreshed. 24 4 WEB PAGE IN THE MACHINE About the Web page (part 2) When you access the Web page in the machine, the following page will appear in your browser. A menu frame appears on the left side of the page. When you click an item in the menu, a screen appears in the right frame that allows you to establish settings for that item. Setting up the E-mail print function, SMTP setup CONTENTS INDEX 25 4 1 2 WEB PAGE IN THE MACHINE E-mail print function (part 1) An e-mail account can be set up for the machine. When this is done, the machine will periodically check the e-mail server for e-mail and automatically print out any file attachments it receives. This provides a means for printing a file from a computer that does not have the printer driver installed, as the user can simply send the file to the machine as an e-mail attachment. Setting up the E-mail print function To use the e-mail print function, the machine must have an e-mail account. In the link menu, click [Application]. The "Application Setup" screen will appear. Click [E-mail Print]. 3 4 Configure the required e-mail settings. For more information, click [Help] in the menu frame. Click [Submit] to store the entered data. CONTENTS INDEX 26 4 WEB PAGE IN THE MACHINE E-mail print function (part 2) Using the E-mail print function To use the e-mail print function, attach the file that you wish to print to an e-mail message and send the e-mail to the machine's e-mail address. The machine can print the following file types: PCLXL, PCL5e, PS, PDF, and TIFF, with file extensions pcl, ps, pdf, tiff, and tif Control commands can be entered in the message of the e-mail to specify the number of copies and print format.
