Slide the disk into the drive until it locks into place. · Always insert a floppy disk straight into the floppy disk drive. · When inserting the disk, make sure it is not upside down. · Do not use excessive force when inserting the floppy disk. If you have difficulty inserting or removing disks, seek the assistance of an authorized service technician. · Do not touch the disk while reading/writing data. It may cause malfunction of the computer and the drive. 4-4 Removing Before removing the floppy disk, make sure the indicator of the floppy disk drive unit is not lit. Remove it and store it properly. Formatting a Floppy Disk 1. Make sure the floppy disk is not write-protected, and insert it into the floppy disk drive. Double-click My Computer on the desktop. [. . . ] The volume of the drives will not be changed and keep current ones. · Recovers both C: and D: drive This process will format both C: and D: drive, and contents of the hard disk is restored to its original state in C: drive. The volume of the drives will be back to the same as shipped from the factory. Formats hard disk and creates new partition This process will format whole hard disk drive and creates new partition.
