Sealing Surface Waveguide Cover · Before installing the range in an area covered with linoleum or any other synthetic floor covering, make sure the floor covering can withstand heat at least 90°F (32. 2°C) above room temperature without shrinking, warping or discoloring. Do not install the range over carpeting unless youplaceaninsulatingpadorsheetof1/4-inch(0. 64cm)thick plywoodbetweentherangeandcarpeting. Before wiring the range, review the suggested power source location drawingsinFigure2. Ifconnectingtoa4-wireelectricalsystem: Followthemanufacturer'sInstallationInstructionsforinstalling thestrainreliefclamp. Stripinsulationawayfromtheendsofthepermanentwiring forline1, line2andneutral;alsostripgroundwireon4-wire connections. Tightenall3or4-wireleadstotheterminalblock. IMportant DONOTLOOSENthefactoryinstallednut connections which secure the range wiring to the terminal block. Electricalfailureorlossofelectricalconnectionmay occurifthese3nutsareloosenedorremoved. ForexistinginstallationsONLY, refertoFigure10. Followthepowersupplycordkitmanufacturer'sInstallation Instructionsandinstallthestrainreliefclamp. SeeFigure10. Connecttheendconnectorsforline1, line2andneutraland tightensecurelytotheterminalblock. SeeFigure10. Remove the factory installed groundscrewandplatetoreleasethefactoryinstalledcopper ground strap from frame of the range. Cut and discard the copperstrapfromtheterminalblock. KEEPthegroundscrew, groundplateandgotostep4. andcontinuewithstep5. note: For3-wirepermanentconnectionskipsteps3and4 Agroundstrapisinstalledonthisrangewhichconnectsthe center terminal of the neutral terminal block to the range chassis. The ground strap is connected to the range by the 4-WIre ConneCtIon Note: Install strain relief clamp. Center or white wire must always be attached to the center terminal on block. connections which secure the range wiring to the terminal block. Electricalfailureorlossofelectricalconnectionmay occurifthese3nutsareloosenedorremoved. IMportant DONOTLOOSENthefactoryinstallednut Connectthegreengroundwireleadtotheframeoftherange using the ground screw and plate as shown in Figure 12. Be sure toinstallusingthesameholeintheframewheretheground screwwasoriginallyinstalled. Makesureallconnectionsaretightenedsecurelyandreplace therearaccesscover.
