How to read this manual Notation conventions Whenever necessary, the following points for attention are indicated in this manual. [. . . ] Scroll down to "Booklet Maker Mode" and tick the box. Switch the MX-M850/M950/M1100 off using the power switch inside the front cover. 5 5 2 2 6 6 ON ON 3 3 Lift up the Exit arm catcher and set the Exit paper arm in the upper position. 7 7 4 4 Remove the Exit tray from the Finisher and put it on the shelf on the Booklet Maker 5 Move the Booklet Maker up to the copier and dock it. 6 continued on next page ON 21 Switch on the booklet maker and wait until the unit comes to "Ready". 1 Switch the MX-M850/M950/M1100 on using the power switch inside the front cover. The Copier is now in Booklet maker mode and the booklet making system is present in the Copier display panel. Make sure the Booklet Maker is in "Auto" mode. 22 Undocking the Booklet Maker Go to [System Settings], [Device Control] and [Other Settings]. Scroll down to "Booklet Maker Mode" mode and un-tick the box. The Copier is now in Copier mode. 24 Turning On / Off the Main Power Booklet Maker, Cover Feeder, Trimmer and Book Folder 1 1 Plug the Booklet Maker powercord into the wall outlet. Cover Feeder (optional), Trimmer (optional) and Book Folder (optional) are powered from the Booklet Maker. Set main power switch (2) on Booklet Maker to ON position. Note The main power switch also controls Cover Feeder (optional), Trimmer (optional) and Book Folder (optional). 2 25 Check staples, Staple cartridge and stapler head Removing stapler head 1 Open the top cover. Disconnect the staple indication lead (A) from the socket. The booklet maker will automatically go to Ready mode. If not and/or error message persists, hand feed a four sheet set of paper. The booklet maker will automatically cycle and advance staples until both stapler heads are driving staples. The booklet maker will automatically go to Ready mode. 2 1 D Emptying the trim bin Remove the trim bin by lifting it and pulling it out. 1 trim bin, no Book Folder installed trim bin, with Book Folder installed 28 2. Making Booklets Changing settings General procedure Changing of settings can be performed in two ways. Temporary, which means that the changes will remain until a new job is loaded or permanent, which means that the changes will be stored as a job. Procedure for temporary changes: From the Ready screen, select the option you wish to change and press the [Change] button. Confirm changes by pressing the [OK] button. Procedure for permanent changes: From the Ready screen, press the [Jobs] button to reach the Jobs screen. Select the Job you want to change by pressing the [Next] button and then press the [Change] button. [. . . ] When clinchers have beed lubricated, the error message must be reset: Switch of the main power switch on the machine. Press and hold the two innermost buttons on the UI, buttons 2 and 3. Switch on the main power switch and release the buttons after 2 seconds. 7 The stapler heads must be oiled every 20 000 stapling cycles to avoid mechanical breakdown. C Remove the Stapler heads according to section 1, BASICS Check staples, Staple cartridge and Stapler head. Put a couple of drops of oil on each side of the drive post (C). [. . . ]
