The camcorder normally records audio in the 12-bit audio recording mode. For higher-quality audio recording, select the 16-bit audio recording mode. The digital image stabilization (DIS) function allows you to stabilize the image by electronically compensating for relatively minor image shaking that is often annoying in close-up shots. 1 2 3 Useful Features In TAPE-CAMERA mode, press the MENU button until the menu screen appears. Turn the CONTROL dial to select U, then press the dial. Turn the CONTROL dial to select "AUDIO MODE", then press the dial. The 16-bit audio recording mode indicator appears. To return to normal recording mode, press the DIS button again. The z indicator will disappear. Notes: The DIS function cannot compensate for excessive image shaking. To return to normal playback, press the PLAY button (t). Note: To protect the tape, the camcorder automatically returns to normal playback if it is left in Slow mode for more than 10 minutes. 46 Useful Features Playback Playback Zoom Available modes: TAPE-VCR, CARD-VCR To cancel Playback Zoom Press the ZOOM W button, which zooms out to the widest angle. Notes: Use of Playback Zoom may cause a reduction in picture quality for still images. Images in Playback Zoom mode cannot be transferred via DV or PC connecting cable to a personal computer. The playback zoom function allows you to magnify the playback picture up to 10 times its original size and shift the magnified picture by using the remote control.
