This is useful when you want to record subjects in very dim conditions, e. g. a nocturnal animal. Note: · Use Night Recording when "LIGHT" is displayed. Do not use in a bright location such as outdoors in broad daylight. CAT'S EYE switch To cancel Night Recording Set the CAT'S EYE switch to OFF. Notes: · The picture will turn white if you use Night Recording in a bright location. · The camcorder may not be able to focus correctly when using Night Recording. In such cases, use the manual focus function to obtain proper focus (see page 41). · The following functions do not work when using Night Recording. -- Manual shutter speed -- Manual exposure -- White balance lock -- Scene menu · You can obtain a much brighter picture of the subject by pressing the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button to select Gain-up mode and then setting the CAT'S EYE switch to ON.
