Within 30 seconds, turn the jog dial on the main unit or press the 3 / 5 or 2 / 4 button on the remote control to select the desired track. To clear all the programmed selections: To cancel a programmed sequence, press the CLEAR button on the remote control whilst the disc is stopped and the "MEMORY" indicator is lit. Notes: q Opening the CD compartment automatically cancels the programmed sequence. q Even if you press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode or the function is changed from CD to some other function, the programmed selections will not be cleared. q Programming is not possible during CD playback. It must be performed whilst the CD is stopped. q When in the random play mode (whilst "RANDOM" is lit), programming is not possible. To perform some programming, cancel the random play mode. 9 CASSETTE OPERATION s Cassette tape q For playback, use normal or low-noise tape for the best sound. (Metal or CrO2 tape is not recommended. ) For recording, use only normal tape. [. . . ] q Dirty heads, capstan or pinch roller can cause poor sound and tape jams. Clean these parts with a cotton swab moistened with commercial head/pinch roller cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. q After long use, the deck's heads and capstan may become magnetised, causing poor sound. Demagnetise these parts once every 30 hours of playing/recording time by using a commercia l tap e head demagnetiser. [. . . ]
