[. . . ]  to disconnect the cable and microphone ,  grasp the connector while depressing the tab. Pull the connector away from the microphone. Keep the switch in the "OFF" position while connecting or disconnecting the microphone from a karaoke machine,  mixer or tape recorder. Move farther away from the microphone to produce a more balanced,  natural sound. To minimize the chance of feedback (a loud howling or squealing noise),  position the microphone beside or behind loudspeakers. If necessary,  clean the microphone and cable with a soft,  dry cloth.
