This avoids the risk that any water splashing out could come into contact with live electrical connections in the base 4, which could cause a short circuit. Boiling water Danger Never place the electrical base 4 in close proximity to water ­ a potentially fatal risk! Injury hazard For safety reasons, the lid 1 should not be opened while the water is boiling or is very hot. There is a risk of receiving severe scalds. Notice Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has already stood in the water boiler for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that has cooled down. Microbes could have formed in it! -3- Cleaning and Care Danger Do not open any part of the housing. An open housing can create the risk of a life-threatening electrical shock. Removing/replacing the pouring sieve · Open the lid 1 · Press the plastic tab down and simultaneously pull the spout sieve 7 inwards. · Remove the spout sieve 7 · Clean the spout sieve 7 with a moistened washcloth under running water. · After cleaning, place the spout sieve 7 against the opening on the inside . Ensure that the lower recess is sitting on the pin inside the kettle. Press on the spout sieve 7 until it engages. · Should the scale deposits on the spout sieve 7 be firmly established, place it in a water-vinegar solution with a ratio of 6:1 for several hours. Rinse the spout sieve 7 with lots of clean water. Before cleaning the appliance, . . . · first, remove the plug from the power socket and allow the appliance to cool down completely. · Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slighly damp cloth. Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use. [. . . ] Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
