Pass the thread through the eye of the needle from front to back. Pull the Automatic needle threader lever down, and place the thread as illustrated. Pull the automatic needle threader down until the wire hook passes through the needle's eye. [. . . ] This is the first step of the four step buttonhole. Raise the needle and turn the Pattern Selector to the second part of the buttonhole. For model 4210, set the Stitch Length to for model 112W140 set the Stitch Length to "1". Turn handwheel counter clockwise until the needle is in the highest position. [. . . ]
