[. . . ] The player does not accept text edits or keyboard input. You can return to where you were before the undo with the redo command. Resets everything back to its original state before any changes were made. This is particularly useful, for example, if you are letting students experiment on their own and now you want them to return the document to its original state to participate in a discussion. Click the toolbar to show or hide the toolbar. It works as a toggle. When you first open the Document Player and no document is loaded, you will see the message “Click here to open a TI-Nspire™ document. ” In the previous graphic, an open document is shown. If there were other pages or more information available than could be shown, there would be scroll bars. 5 -Power bar Information This footer section has three icons and a link: Click the information icon to display information about the TI-Nspire™ Document Player such as the version number. Help opens the original landing page where Document Player is located. On that same page are links to more resources. The Learn More tag is a link to the Web page with more information about the Document Player. Opening a TI-Nspire™ Document You have three methods of opening documents. 4 TI-Nspire™ Document Player  Click the Open —or— icon with no document open.  Click in the document viewing area with no document open. Program Editor Connectivity to handheld None None More Information About Controls The Document Player has many different types of ways to interact with the information presented. The following examples show different types of interactive controls. Note: You can also interact with hyperlinks and video controls if present. Slider (Sliders can look different by being minimized, maximized, horizontal, or vertical) TI-Nspire™ Document Player 7 Click the edge of the circle and hold the mouse down to expand or contract the circle’s diameter. Click the point inside the circle to move the circle to a different location. Click a point that is attached to a line to move the point along the line path. 8 TI-Nspire™ Document Player Click the line and hold the mouse down while moving the cursor to reposition the angle of the line. Note: Text entry is not an edit function of the TI-Nspire™ Document Player. Example Document Inside the TI-Nspire™ Document Player The following example shows a document as it appears in the TI-Nspire™ Document Player. It shows one of the slider controls as shown in the previous Controls section and also shows an example of working with points. This document shows the concept of the Pythagorean theorem by letting the student conceptualize the relationship by interaction with the visual. In the example, students will use sliders and points to review various sizes of squares and move their corners to form a triangle. For clarity, only the document viewing area is shown. Note: The purpose here is only to show an example of the controls in actions, not to explain how the lesson proceeds. This is the first page that appears in this particular document. [. . . ] They will change when the slider button is clicked and the box dimensions change since they are linked to the values of a, b, and c. In the following two screens the slider was clicked and the boxes changed dimensions. Notice the values for a, b, and c.
