[. . . ] 1 5144 14, 4 V 2, 6 kg 90 45 130 mm MAX. 122 mm MIN. 40 mm 26 mm 2700 RPM 1 16 mm 16 mm ACCESSORIES SKIL nr. 12x 130 mm 16 mm 0, 8 / 1, 3 NiCad NiCad NiMH 2610392123 2610389467 2610389468 2610388964 Battery 14, 4 V 1, 3 Ah 1, 7 Ah 1, 8 Ah 2610387402 2 3 5 4 7 b A 2 14, 4 77 a 6 Cd 7 E D 22 DBC NOT INCLUDED 8 H F G 3 9 J K L G 0 N 2, 5 mm MIN 5 mm MAX G 2, 5 mm MIN 5 mm MAX M 4 !a P !b 40 mm 40 mm 0 90 5 @ Q R T U S C B # 6 $ % B C W P V ^ 7 GB INTRODUCTION G This tool is intended for lengthways and crossways cutting of wood with straight cuts as well as angle cuts to 45; with the appropriate saw blades also non-ferrous metals, light building materials and plastics can be cut TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1 SAFETY G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G G Read and save this instruction manual (pay special attention to the safety instructions at the back) 2 Check voltage indicated on nameplate of tool/charger/ battery In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction, immediately switch off the tool or unplug charger from power source Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and other elements in your workpiece; remove them before you start cutting When you put away the tool, switch off the motor and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete standstill SKIL can assure flawless functioning of the tool only when original accessories are used Before using accessories always compare the maximum allowed speed of that specific accessory with the speed of the tool Never use the tool without the original protection guard system This tool should not be used by people under the age of 16 years The noise level when working can exceed 85 dB(A); wear ear protection This tool is not suitable for wet cutting The kerf guide has to be adjusted in case different diameters of sawblade are used Do not use a circular saw blade which is cracked, deformed or dull Do not use a circular saw blade of which the body thickness is bigger, or the teeth setting is smaller than the thickness of the kerf guide After switching off your circular saw, never stop the rotation of the saw blade by a lateral force applied against it Never clamp or wedge the lower guard in open position; ensure that it operates freely Never use circular saw blades made of high speed steel (HSS) Only use thin saw blades designed for cordless circular saws Never use grinding/cutting discs with this tool Do not remove the kerf guide Keep hands away from the saw blade while the tool is in use Do not cut material containing asbestos Do not attempt to cut extremely small workpieces Remove all obstacles on top of as well as underneath the cutting path before you start cutting G Do not work overhead with the tool G Do not activate switch when carrying the tool G Always remove battery from tool before making any adjustment or changing any accessory, in order to reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally CHARGING/BATTERIES G Charge battery only with the charger that is supplied with the tool G Do not charge batteries of other manufacturers G Do not touch the contacts in the charger G Do not expose tool/charger/battery to rain G Do not not carry or suspend the charger by the cord G Never charge battery outdoors 3 G Store tool/charger/battery in locations where temperature will not exceed 40 C or drop below 0 G Batteries will explode in fire, so do not burn battery for any reason G When damaged, and under extreme usage and temperature conditions, batteries may start to leak - if liquid comes into contact with the skin, wash quickly with soap and water, then with lemon juice or vinegar - if liquid gets into the eyes, flush eyes with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek immediately medical attention G When battery is not in tool or charger, it should be kept away from metal objects such as nails, screws, keys etc. to prevent short-circuit G Do not use charger when damaged; take it to one of the officially registered SKIL Service Stations for a safety check G Do not use charger when cord or plug is damaged; cord or plug should be replaced immediately at one of the officially registered SKIL Service Stations G Do not use battery when damaged; it should be replaced immediately G Do not disassemble charger or battery G Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries with the charger WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U. K. ONLY): G Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire in the cord of the charger to the earth terminal of the plug G If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of the charger, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended G USE USE OF BATTERY G Always remove battery from tool before making any adjustment or changing any accessory, in order to reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally 4 G Charging battery 5 - battery of new tools is not fully charged - plug charger into power source - light A will turn on - insert battery correctly into charger, so that it makes contact and is not hindered by foreign objects - light A will blink indicating that the battery is receiving a charge (5a) 8 - after approximately 1 hour the battery is fully charged and light A stays on after blinking, at which time the charger automatically switches to maintenancecharging (5b) ! N'utilisez pas des outils des fins et pour des travaux pour lesquels ils n'ont pas t conus (p. ex. n'employez pas une scie circulaire pour abattre ou pour brancher des arbres). 9 Portez des vtements de travail appropis Ne portez pas des vtements larges ou des bijoux; ils pourraient tre happs par les pices en mouvement. Lors de travaux l'air libre il est recommand de porter des gants en caoutchouc et des chaussures semelle anti-drapante. Coiffez-vous d'un filet cheveux s'ils sont longs. 10 Portez des lunettes de protection Utilisez aussi un masque si le travail excut produit de la poussire. 11 Installez le systme d'vacuation des poussires Si l'outil est quip des dispositives d'vacuation et de ramassage des poussires, assurez-vous qu'ils soient bien raccords et utiliss correctement. 12 Prservez le cble d'alimentation Ne portez pas l'outil par le cble, ne tirez pas sur le cble pour dbrancher la fiche de la prise, et prservez le cble de la chaleur, de l'huile et des artes vives. 13 Fixez bien la pice Employez un dispositif de serrage ou un tau afin de bien fixer la pice; elle sera ainsi bloque plus srement qu'avec votre main et vous aurez les deux mains libres pour manier l'outil. 14 N'largissez pas trop votre rayon d'action Evitez d'adopter une position fatigante pour le corps; veillez ce que votre appui au sol soit ferme et conservez l'quilibre tout moment. 15 Entretenez vos outils soigneusement Maintenez vos outils affts et propres afin de travailler mieux et plus srement.
