MAX. 22mm 11000 RPM 2 4 3 5 2 6 J G A 7a H B C J D 7b E K (not included) F 7c 8 30-40 9 ACCESSORIES 115 mm 125 mm 115 mm 125 mm SKIL Nr. 2610388766 Clic flange 3 GB INTRODUCTION G This tool is intended for grinding, cutting and deburring metal and stone materials without the use of water; with the appropriate accessories the tool can also be used for brushing and sanding TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1 SAFETY GENERAL G Read and save this instruction manual (pay special attention to the safety instructions at the back) 2 G Only use this tool for dry grinding/cutting G Only use the flanges which are supplied with this tool G This tool should not be used by people under the age of 16 years G Always disconnect plug from power source before making any adjustment or changing any accessory ACCESSORIES G Use the original SKIL accessories which can be obtained from your SKIL dealer G For mounting/using non-SKIL accessories observe the instructions of the manufacturer concerned G Use only accessories with an allowable speed matching at least the highest no-load speed of the tool G Do not use damaged, deformed or vibrating grinding/cutting discs G Handle and store grinding/cutting discs carefully to avoid chipping and cracking G Protect accessories from impact, shock and grease G Do not use a grinding/cutting disc that is larger than the maximum recommended size G Only use grinding/cutting discs with a hole diameter which fits mounting flange D 6 without play; never use reducors or adaptors to fit large-hole grinding/cutting discs G Never use grinding/cutting discs with a threaded hole, of which the thread is not long enough to accept the spindle length of the tool G Never use accessories with a "blind" threaded hole smaller than M14 x 21 mm OUTDOOR USE G Connect the tool via a fault current (FI) circuit breaker with a triggering current of 30 mA maximum G Only use an extension cord which is intended for outdour use and equipped with a splashproof coupling-socket BEFORE USE G Before using the tool for the first time, it is recommended to receive practical information G Do not work with materials containing asbestos G Be careful of hidden electrical wires or gas- and water pipes; check the work area, for instance with a metal detector G Be careful when cutting groves, especially in supporting walls (slots in supporting walls are subject to countryspecific regulations; these regulations are to be observed under all circumstances, so before beginning work, consult with the responsible structural engineer, architect or construction supervisor) 4 Clamp the workpiece in case it does not remain stationary from its own weight G Do not clamp the tool in a vice G Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a capacity of 16 Amps (UK 13 Amps) G Wear protective glasses and gloves, hearing protection 3, a dust mask, and sturdy shoes; when necessary, also wear an apron G Always mount auxiliary handle A 6 and protective guard B 6; never use the tool without them G Be sure tool is switched off when plugging in DURING USE G Always keep the cord away from moving parts of the tool; direct the cord to the rear, away from the tool G If the cord is damaged or cut through while working, do not touch the cord, but immediately disconnect the plug; never use the tool with a damaged cord G Push spindle-lock button G 6 only when spindle C 6 is at a standstill G Keep hands away from rotating accessories G When grinding metal, sparks are generated; keep other persons and combustible material from work area G In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction, immediately switch off the tool and disconnect the plug G In case the cutting disc is blocked, resulting in jerking forces on the tool, immediately switch off the tool G In case of current interruption or when the plug is accidentally pulled out, unlock the on/off switch immediately and put it in the OFF-position in order to prevent uncontrolled restarting G Do not apply so much pressure on the tool that it comes to a standstill AFTER USE G Before you put down the tool, switch off the motor and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete standstill G After switching off the tool, never stop the rotation of the accessory by a lateral force applied against it WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U. K. ONLY): G Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug G If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of this tool, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended G USE G G G Mount auxiliary handle A 4 Mount protective guard B 5 ! [. . . ] 7 Ne surchargez pas votre outil Vous travaillerez mieux et plus srement dans la plage de puissance indique. 8 Utilisez l'outil adquat N'utilisez pas d'outils ou de dispositifs adaptables de trop faible puissance pour excuter de travaux lourds. N'utilisez pas des outils des fins et pour des travaux pour lesquels ils n'ont pas t conus (p. ex. n'employez pas une scie circulaire pour abattre ou pour brancher des arbres). 9 Portez des vtements de travail appropis Ne portez pas des vtements larges ou des bijoux; ils pourraient tre happs par les pices en mouvement. Lors de travaux l'air libre il est recommand de porter des gants en caoutchouc et des chaussures semelle anti-drapante. Coiffez-vous d'un filet cheveux s'ils sont longs. 10 Portez des lunettes de protection Utilisez aussi un masque si le travail excut produit de la poussire. 11 Installez le systme d'vacuation des poussires Si l'outil est quip des dispositives d'vacuation et de ramassage des poussires, assurez-vous qu'ils soient bien raccords et utiliss correctement. 12 Prservez le cble d'alimentation Ne portez pas l'outil par le cble, ne tirez pas sur le cble pour dbrancher la fiche de la prise, et prservez le cble de la chaleur, de l'huile et des artes vives. 13 Fixez bien la pice Employez un dispositif de serrage ou un tau afin de bien fixer la pice; elle sera ainsi bloque plus srement qu'avec votre main et vous aurez les deux mains libres pour manier l'outil. 14 N'largissez pas trop votre rayon d'action Evitez d'adopter une position fatigante pour le corps; veillez ce que votre appui au sol soit ferme et conservez l'quilibre tout moment. 15 Entretenez vos outils soigneusement Maintenez vos outils affts et propres afin de travailler mieux et plus srement. Observez les prscriptions d'entretien et les indications de changement d'accessoires. Vrifiez rgulirement l'tat de la fiche et du cble d'alimentation et, en cas d'endommagement, faites-les changer par un technicien qualifi. Vrifiez le cble de rallonge priodiquement et remplacez-le s'il est endommag. Maintenez les poignes sches et exemptes d'huile et de graisse. 16 Dbranchez la fiche de la prise En cas de non-utilisation, avant de procder l'entretien, ou lors du changement d'accessoires comme p. ex. 17 Enlevez les cls outils Avant de mettre l'outil en marche, assurez-vous que les cls et outils de rglage aient t retirs. 18 Evitez tout dmarrage involontaire Ne portez pas l'outil en ayant un doigt plac sur l'interrupteur tant qu'il est branch au rseau lectrique. Assurez-vous que l'interrupteur soit en position de coupure avant de brancher l'outil au rseau lectrique. 19 Cble de rallonge pour l'extrieur A l'extrieur, n'utilisez que des cbles de rallonge homologus avec le marquage correspondant.
