Overview.  [. . . ] The left knob selects the individual channel monitored in the AMPLIFIER and PROCESSOR listening modes. STANDBY mode disconnects all monitoring signals,  but does not power down the system. 

Connections. The MN596 has Phoenix connector inputs for amplifier and processor signals,  as well as an alternate THX standard DB25 processor connection (see diagram at right). Simply connect appropriate amplifier and processor signals to the indicated Phoenix positions.
