Front Panel RJ-45 Ports This switch features 24 10/100BASE-TX ports with RJ-45 connectors located on the front panel of the switch. Because all ports support automatic MDI/MDI-X operation, you can use straight-through cables for all network connections to PCs or servers, or to other switches or hubs. 1 Introduction 1000BASE-T Ports The two 1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports operate at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, half or full duplex, or at 1000 Mbps, full duplex. Because these ports support automatic MDI/MDI-X operation, you can use straight-through cables for all network connections to PCs or servers, or to other switches or hubs. LED Status Indicators The front panel of the switch provides status LEDs for "at-a-glance" system monitoring. The following table details the functions of the various indicators. Port and System Status LEDs Condition Status On The switch is receiving power. On Off 10/100/1000 Flashing On Green Off Amber The port has established a valid network connection. The port has not established a network connection. Indicates the port is operating at 100 Mbps. When the corresponding Link/Act LED is on, indicates the port is operating at 10 Mbps. Indicates the port is operating at 1000 Mbps (port 25, 26) LED Power Ports 1-24 Link/Act 2 Installing the Switch Before installing the switch, verify that you have all the items listed under "Package Contents. Also, an RJ-45 connector must be attached to both ends of the cable. Caution: Caution: DO NOT plug a phone jack connector into any RJ-45 port.
