("SMC") warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and service, for the applicable warranty term. All SMC products carry a standard 90-day limited warranty from the date of purchase from SMC or its Authorized Reseller. SMC may, at its own discretion, repair or replace any product not operating as warranted with a similar or functionally equivalent product, during the applicable warranty term. [. . . ] It is still possible to change wireless network settings with Manual Wireless Network Setup, Wireless Network Setup Wizard, or an existing external WLAN Manager Registrar. PIN Settings A PIN is a unique number that can be used to add the access point to an existing network or to create a new network. The default PIN is printed on the bottom of the access point. For extra security, a new PIN can be generated. You can restore the default PIN at any time. Only the Administrator ("admin" account) can change or reset the PIN. 23 Current PIN Shows the current value of the access point's PIN. Reset PIN to Default Restore the default PIN of the access point. Generate New PIN Create a random number that is a valid PIN. This becomes the access point's PIN. You can then copy this PIN to the user interface of the registrar. Add Wireless Station This Wizard helps you add wireless devices to the wireless network. The wizard will either display the wireless network settings to guide you through manual configuration, prompt you to enter the PIN for the device, or ask you to press the configuration button on the device. If the device supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup and has a configuration button, you can add it to the network by pressing the configuration button on the device and then the on the access point within 60 seconds. The status LED on the access point will flash three times if the device has been successfully added to the network. There are several ways to add a wireless device to your network. Access to the wireless network is controlled by a "registrar". A registrar only allows devices onto the wireless network if you have entered the PIN, or pressed a special Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on the device. The access point acts as a registrar for the network, although other devices may act as a registrar as well. 24 Tools The Tools tab provides the following configuration options: Admin, Time, System, Firmware Tools_Admin The Admin option is used to set a password for access to the Web-based management. By default there is no password configured. It is highly recommended that you create a password to keep your new access point secure. 25 Inactivity Time Out If the router does not detect any administrative activity during this number of minutes, it logs the adminstrator off. Admin Password Enter a password for the user "admin", who will have full access to the Web-based management interface. User Password Enter a password for the user "user", who will have read-only access to the Web-based management interface. Device Name The name of the access point can be changed here. Tools_Time The Time Configuration option allows you to configure, update, and maintain the correct time on the access point's internal system clock.
