[. . . ] 10 5. 6 Fridge cell defrosting water drain At the back of the fridge cell, under the refrigeration plate, there is a groove and a hole for collecting the water from defrosting. This opening must not be obstructed if the fridge is to work correctly. You are therefore advised to check it and clean it regularly using a rigid metal wire. 5. 7 Fruit and vegetable drawer This container is positioned in the lower part of the fridge cell where there is a special glass shelf to cover fresh foods that require constant humidity conditions for proper storage. 5. 8 Door ledges and containers On the inside of the fridge door there are ledges and trays for storing eggs, butter, dairy products, tubes, conserves and other small packages. The lower part of the door has a container for standing bottles upright. All the door ledges and trays can be removed for cleaning. To remove them from the door, by tapping them upwards with your fist, first on one side and then on the other in the insertion zone. Avoid placing excessively heavy bottles in the bottle holder and do not let them drop onto the bottom when inserting them (Fig. 11 5. 9 Inside lighting When the fridger door is open, the light comes on and stays lit until the door is completely closed. The light comes on if the thermostat of the fridge freezer is set to position "0", which corresponds to switching off the fridge and the freezer. 39 Instructions for the user 5. 10 Drawer for ice and eutectic salts This drawer is for the ice cube tray and for holding eutectic salts (if present). Fig. 12 40 Instructions for the user 6. ARRANGING AND STORING FOODS IN THE FRIDGE CELL Arrange the foods on the various shelves/compartments, taking care to pack and cover them in such a way that they are hermetically sealed. This precaution ensures that: - the flavour, moisture and freshness of the foods can be preserved; - any contamination of foods with odours or tastes from other foods can be avoided. - excessive accumulation of moisture in the compartment can be avoided, due to normal transpiration of foods (in particular fresh fruit and vegetables), which in certain operating conditions (increase in ambient temperature and humidity, increased frequency of door opening) could lead to the formation of condensation on the shelves. Only use containers suitable for keeping food. Always allow hot foods and drinks to cool at room temperature before putting them in the compartment. Do not keep explosive substances in the appliance and only keep drinks with a high alcohol content in it if they are properly closed and kept vertical. You must always strictly observe the expiry date for food indicated by the manufacturer on the product packaging. 7. ARRANGING AND STORING FOODS IN THE FREEZER Arrange the foods in the various compartments, taking care to pack and cover them in such a way that they are hermetically sealed. This precaution ensures that: - the flavour, moisture and freshness of the foods can be preserved; - any contamination of foods with odours or tastes from other foods can be avoided. Only use containers suitable for keeping food. Always allow hot foods and drinks to cool at room temperature before putting them in the freezer. Do not keep explosive substances in the appliance and only keep drinks with a high alcohol content in it if they are properly closed and kept vertical. [. . . ] surrounding - open the door less frequently and for as little time as possible; check that the food packages are arranged properly in the drawers/ on the shelves and are not preventing the door from closing properly; also check that the fridge freezer is properly level on the floor; check that the seal is closing properly and is not damaged. if you try to reopen the door immediately after it has been closed, you will need to exert considerable force. This is due to the low pressure created by the cooling of the warm air which has entered the freezer. 50 Instructions for the user PROBLEM The temperature inside the freezer does not freeze the foods properly: POSSIBLE CAUSE internal temperature control set too low; frequent or prolonged door opening; the door does hermetically; not close PROBABLE SOLUTION Set the selector to a higher setting. open the door less frequently and for as little time as possible; check that the food packages are arranged properly in the drawers, the seal is closing properly and is not damaged, and the fridge freezer is properly level on the floor; some foods may not freeze completely unless they are at very low temperatures (ice cream, juice concentrates) Set the control to a lower setting so that the temperature inside the freezer increases slightly; check that the seals are functioning properly; open the door less frequently and for less time; increase the atmospheric temperature and humidity; do not put hot food or drinks in the freezer; the fridge freezer is functioning correctly.
