[. . . ] Configuration supervisor password allows you to restrict access to the system and BIOS Setup. A supervisor password allows you to make changes in BIOS Setup. A user password only allows you to view the BIOS settings but not to make changes. Save all the changes made in the BIOS Setup program to the CMOS and exit BIOS Setup. The OS is responsible for keeping the P-state request up to date on all logical processors. In SW_ALL mode, the OS Power Manager is responsible for coordinating the P-state among logical BIOS Setup - 32 - CPU C3/C6 Support (Note) processors with dependencies and must initiate the transition on all of those Logical Processors. In SW_ANY mode, the OS Power Manager is responsible for coordinating the P-state among logical processors with dependencies and may initiate the transition on any of those Logical Processors.
