With the tape deck turned off, hold down § OPEN/ CLOSE and press POWER. The holder opens, the heads rise, and the pinch rollers begin to rotate. Wipe the heads, the pinch rollers, and the capstans with a cotton swab slightly moistened with alcohol or a commercially available cleaning fluid for tape decks. In this case, set the MPX FILTER switch on the tape deck to ON. Bias calibration Adjustment for optimum recording. You can get better recording results with minimum distortion and flat frequency response by adjusting the bias current to the appropriate level.
