Customizing your CLIÉTM handheld (Preferences) 101 Selecting the screen color theme You can select the screen color theme. Customizing your CLIÉTM handheld (Preferences) 102 Setting the display format for time, date, and numbers Selecting a regional default When you select the region where you use your CLIÉ handheld, the display format of the time, date, week start day, and numbers are adjusted to the regional default. For example, in the United Kingdom, time is expressed using a 24-hour clock; in the United States, time is expressed using a 12-hour clock with an AM or PM suffix. The regional default setting is applied to the display formats of all your CLIÉ handheld applications. However, you can customize your own settings for each unit, such as time or date. 1 2 Tap V at the top right of the Preferences screen, and select [Formats]. Tap V next to [Preset to:], and select a region name. Customizing your own settings You can customize your own settings for the display formats of the time, date, week start day, and numbers. The settings are applied to the display formats of all your CLIÉ handheld applications. 1 2 3 4 Tap V at the top right of the Preferences screen, and select [Formats]. Tap V next to [Time:], and select the desired format. 7 Tap [OK]. 6 Tap [OK]. The configuration for the communication device is changed and the Preferences screen is displayed. Customizing your CLIÉTM handheld (Preferences) 107 Setting up the Date & Time preferences You can set the date, time, time zone, and daylight savings on/off for your CLIÉ handheld. After you set the local date and time of your home base, you can change the displayed time (for example, during business trips) simply by switching the time zones. The Set Date screen is displayed. Tap b or B beside the year at the top of the screen to set the year. Tap the current date. Tap [On] or [Off]. Customizing your CLIÉTM handheld (Preferences) 109 Setting the Phone function You need to configure the Phone Preferences before using SMS. 1 2 Tap V at the top right of the Preferences screen, and select [Phone]. The Preferences screen for Phone is displayed. Tap V under [Connection:], and select [Sony BT to GSM] or [Edit Connections. . . ]. Sony BT to GSM: You can connect to your GSM phone via Bluetooth® function. Edit Connections: You can select any other available connections. Tip The default setting is [Sony BT to GSM]. 3 4 5 Tap [Details]. The Phone Driver Details screen is displayed. Tap V next to [Phone:]. If you chose the default connection configuration [Sony BT to GSM], you can select the appropriate GSM phone model from the list. Tap [OK]. Note When you tap [Test], your CLIÉ handheld begins to search devices connectable by the Bluetooth function, according to the contents set up.
