[. . . ] FOREWORD This manual has been prepared to acquaint you with the operation and maintenance of your new REXTON and to provide important safety information. We urge you to read it carefully and follow the recommendations to help assure the most enjoyable, safe, and trouble-free operation of your vehicle. [. . . ] · Rear impacts · Rollovers · Minor frontal collisions WARNING The air bag is designed only for factory equipped vehicles. · Modification will adversely affect system operation and performance and may cause personal injury. Children could be injured seriously by air bag in collision. · NEVER INSTALL A REAR-FACING CHILD RESTRAINT IN THE FRONT SEAT. A rear-facing child restraint could be struck by the inflating front passenger air bag. Always secure a rear-facing child restraint in the rear seat. · A front-facing child restraint should be secured in the rear seat whenever possible. If installed in the front seat, adjust the seat as far back as it will go. · Children who have outgrown child restraint systems should sit in rear seat and be restrained with seat belt. Repairs by unauthorized persons could cause injury. · Repairs to instrument panel should only be done by Ssangyong Dealer. CAUTION · Once air bag system is triggered, the triggered bag assembly should be removed from the vehicle and replaced with new one. · You could suffer injuries of abrasion on your hands and face skins after deployment. · Even if your vehicle is crashed in low speed (out of air bag inflation range), check and service your vehicle for your safety. · Do not move your seat too close to the steering wheel or dashboard. SEAT AND RESTRAINT 4­25 WARNING · Never impact on the air bag installations by hands or tools. You could be injured by abrupt inflation. · Air bag components will be very hot after the deployment. · Do not place any objects on the air bag inflation portion. You may be injured by those objects during deployment. · The infants, children, pregnant and old should be seated in the rear seats. · You could suffer secondary injuries caused by inflated air bag such as an abrasion, a burn and injuries by broken glasses. · Non-toxic gas will come out when the air bag is inflated and your skin, eyes and nose could be troubled by this gas, if so, wash it out with cold and clean water. If trouble continues, see your doctor. WARNING · The air bag is made by nylon, so you can get light injuries like abrasion or burn during airbag inflation. · Never alter or modify the air bag and seat belt pretensioner related components. · During service, the correct service procedures or cautions should be observed, or the air bag and seat belt pretensioner will be defective or can cause even death.
