Static DHCP Bydefault, therouterdynamicallyassignsIPaddressestoallconnecteddevicesthroughtheDHCPprotocol. Thisisthemostuser-friendlymethod ofnetworkconfigurationbutitcanalsoleadtoIPaddressesthatchangeovertimeorwhenadevicereconnects. Incertaincasesthisisundesirable behaviour, forexamplewhenyouuseportforwardingitisnecessaryforthedevice'sIPaddresstoremainconstant.
