SETTING THE CH3/CH4 SWITCH If your TV does not have A/V terminals: When the VCP is in the Playback mode, your TV will receive signals from the VCP on either channel 3 or 4. To use the VCP with your TV, set the selector switch to CH3 or CH4 (which is located in the back of your VCP), whichever is not used for normal broadcasts in your area. Then set your TV to the same channel. TV REMOTE LINK JACK Connect the VCP to the TV (Funai TV) using the "TV Remote Link cable" (not supplied). Instead of firing at the VCP, you can control its function using remote control sensor on your TV (Funai TV). *You can't use the remote sensor on the front panel of VCP when this jack is occupied. *When you connect both REMOTE CONTROL jack and TV REMOTE LINK jack at the same time, REMOTE CONTROL jack takes precedence over the TV REMOTE LINK jack. CH3 CH4 CH3 CH4 TV LINK REMOTE ANT IN ANT OUT [Back of the VCP] ­4­ EN PLAYBACK FUNCTION NORMAL PLAYBACK 1 Insert the prerecorded tape. If the safety tab has been removed, the VCP will start playback automatically. 2 Turn on the TV and set the TV to channel 3 or 4. Now set the CH3/CH4 switch on the back of the VCP to match the channel selected on the TV. · Tracking adjustment will be set automatically (Digital Tracking function) when you start playback. To adjust the tracking manually, press [TRACKING (o/p)] on the remote control. · When a tape has reached the end, the VCP will rewind the tape to the beginning, eject the tape, and turn off the VCP automatically. 4 To stop playback, press [STOP]. PICTURE SELECT This function enables you to improve the picture quality when playing back worn cassettes such as rented tapes. Turn on the TV and set the TV channel to 3 or 4. Now set the CH3/CH4 switch on the back of the VCP to match the channel selected on the TV. The VCP will automatically turn on and playback will start. If play back does not start, press [PLAY]. Press [PICTURE SELECT] repeatedly to select NORMAL or SOFT or SHARP. You can see the current setting on the display.
