This chapter explains how to use the Update Library Firmware and Drive Operations commands on the Tools menu to update firmware. Updating Library Firmware Using the Update Library Firmware command on the web client interface, you can install new library firmware. Note This operation should not be performed concurrently by multiple administrative users. You can access the screen, but you cannot apply changes while another administrative user is performing the same operation. Locate the firmware file that you have downloaded and click Open. A dialog box appears informing you that the library will reboot to update the library firmware. 7 Click OK to continue with the library firmware update operation. After you download the library firmware, the update program puts the firmware package in a predetermined location in the file structure. During the firmware update process, the various parts of the firmware package are distributed to the proper library components. The updated firmware components are also tracked.
