MW: Press Ih is bulton 10 listen 10 an MW broadcast allocation: This button is also used 10 select a frequency step ol either 9 kHz or 10 kHz. When the MW button is pressed lor about 4 seconds, the MW Irequency step will change to 10 kHz per step. (This step is set to 9 kHz belore shipment. ) Set to the appropriate position lor your locality. In order to return to the original frequency indica tion, press this button lor about 4 seconds again. Memory indicator (memo) This indicator illuminates when the memory bulton is pressed. FM stereo indicator (stereo) This indicator automatically illuminates wh en an FM stereo broadcast is being received. LW: Press this button 10 listen 10 an LW broadcast. freq shift: When Ihe LW bullon is pressed for aboul 2 seconds during reception ol an LW broadcast, the LW Irequency will decrease by 2 kHz. So, for example, 10 receive 153 kHz, lune 10 155 kHz, and then press this button. In order to return 10 the original Irequency indica tion, press this button lor about 2 seconds again. Note: It will not illuminate il the FM mode selector is set to the monaural mode. Digital frequency display The recept ion Irequency of the FM or AM broadcast selected by using the tuning buttons or the preset-tun ing buttons is indicated by a digital-type display. Signal-strength indicators (signal) _----' These indicators show the relative strength of broadcast signals being received by the anten na. The best condi tion lor reception, lor FM and AM, is when the indicators illuminate completely to the top. FM mode selector (FM mode)--. . ;/ This unit automatically switches into the stereo mode wh en a stereo broadcast is received. Press this button to listen in the monaural mode. The stereo indicator will not illuminate in the monaural mode. Preset-tuning buttons (1 - 16) (16 channel random preset tuning) These bultons are used to preset FM and AM broadcast Irequencies into the memory ol this unit, and are also pressed to select the desired preset Irequencies.
