[. . . ] DVR98 HOME THEATER SYSTEM This "QUICK-START GUIDE" will get you started without reading the complete owner's manual. However, we recommend you take time to read the owner's manual completely to learn about all of the features and operating instructions for the DVR98. The Quick Guide covers only basic connections and operating instructions. The owner's manual includes important safety information and describes in detail, the advanced features and operating instructions of the DVR98. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN QUICK-START GUIDE PLE CAUTION AS ER EA D! CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE COVER (OR BACK). [. . . ] Place the desired CDs in the tray, then press the appropriate DISC button again to close the drawer. Note: If you want to load more than one CD, you can press another DISC button. The receiver closes the open drawer and opens the drawer of the DISC button you pressed. DISC SKIP function To select next drawer, press DISC SKIP. The disc icon (at the far left) begins to rotate. To resume playback, press PAUSE again or press PLAY. that there is less disparity in the noise level of all sounds in a movie (explosions, music, dialogue, and so on). While in Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Stereo mode, press to turn Night Mode on. Note: Night Mode is not available for movies using DTS mode. NIGHT MODE USING THE SLEEP TIMER You can set the sleep timer to turn off the receiver after a set period of time. Repeatedly press SLEEP to set the sleep timer to the desired time ( 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 , or 90 minutes). The receiver turns off when the selected time has expired. To move forward through a track, hold down DISK SKIP for about 2 seconds. Repeat up to two times to increase the fast-forward speed. Note: At the beginning or end of a track on an audio CD, the scan speed returns to normal. To move backward through a track, hold down DISK SKIP for about 2 seconds. Repeat up to two times to increase the rewind speed. To skip to the next track on the CD, press DISK SKIP once. To return to the beginning of the current track, press DISK SKIP To return to the previous track, press DISK SKIP twice. To stop playback, press STOP The disc icon stops rotating, . To stop playback completely, press STOP again. Continuous Play When the receiver finishes playing an audio CD, it automatically plays the disc on the next drawer. Changing the Sound Mode You can listen to your CDs using Stereo or Surround modes. For stereo only, press STEREO at front control panel once. For a surround mode, repeatedly press SURROUND MODE at front control panel until he desired mode (THEATER, HALL, STADIUM, or PRO LOGIC) appears. Note: Dolby Digital and DTS modes can be operateble with Disc encoded with them. USING NIGHT MODE You can use Night Mode to compress large dynamic ranges, resulting in "quieter" explosions and other loud sounds in movies. [. . . ] Set the mode to the desired surround mode position. Check all rear speaker wires for good connection. Set Surround Mode to DTS, DOLBY DIGITAL, DOLBY PRO LOGIC No sound from the center speaker. Surround Mode is not set to DTS, DOLBY DIGITAL, DOLBY PRO LOGIC If the receiver does not operate normally due to external effects such as static electricity, disconnect the power plug from the outlet and insert again to return to normal operating conditions. 24 CARE Keep the receiver dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
