For use with the optional Tape Out DAC With the optional tape out DAC installed on the MAIN Digital Input board, the user can route a digital source to the analog TAPE OUT jacks while simultaneously watching or listening to a different digital source. [. . . ] To route a signal to the appropriate TAPE OUT jack(s), press the TAPE OUT button once and then select a source for the TAPE OUT by pressing one of the 1 - 6 buttons. On the front panel, the LED above the selected source will light and on the video monitor display, an arrow will point to the selection just made. Then press the A-D button to toggle between ANALOG, MAINDA or TAPEDA. If the source to be recorded is an analog signal, select ANALOG. If the source is a digital signal, select either MAINDA or TAPEDA, where MAINDA routes the signal from the main D/A output boards (source being watched or listened to) and TAPEDA routes the signal from the optional DAC (other source) on the Main Digital Input board. Note: If the source to be recorded is a Dolby Digital or DTS encoded signal, it must be routed through the DACs on the main D/A board (MAINDA) in order to be properly decoded, otherwise only noise will be heard at the analog TAPE OUT jacks.
