[. . . ] Maintain the supraspinous ligament and carefully dissect the paraspinal musculature down the spinous process of the cephalad vertebra exposiing the lamina and the facet capsule. Select the appropriate depth Thalgott blade and engage the tip of the first blade into the lateral aspect of the of the facet joint capsule above the foramen at the level of the pedicle. Place blade to allow optimal access for placement of the translaminar screws. 

2. Clip handles to frame arms and retract handles until desired exposure is achieved. Distract until desired exposure is achieved. Up to two additional blades and handles may be added to the Single Level Frame arms.
