[. . . ] The keys in the center of the keyboard with white letters make up the numeric keypad overlay. The overlay provides the same functions as the numeric keypad on the 101/102-key enhanced keyboard in figure 5-2. Turning on the overlays The numeric keypad overlay can be used for numeric data input or cursor and page control. THE KEYBOARD 5-7 User's Manual Arrow mode To turn on the Arrow mode, press Fn + F10 (Arrow mode indicator lights). Now try cursor and page control using the keys shown in figure 5-2. Press Fn + F10 again to turn off the overlay. Numeric mode To turn on the Numeric mode, press Fn + F11 (Numeric mode indicator lights). Now try numeric data entry using the keys in figure 5-2. S. ) Temporarily using normal keyboard (overlay on) While using the overlay, you can temporarily access the normal keyboard without turning off the overlay: 5-8 Generating ASCII characters 1. Indicates power is being supplied to the computer while the computer is in Standby mode. The indicator blinks on for one second and off for two seconds. Under any other conditions, the indicator does not light. You can purchase additional battery packs for extended use of the computer away from an AC power source. When its operation becomes short even when fully charged, replace it with a new one. The battery pack is a lithium ion battery, which can explode if not properly replaced, used, handled or disposed of. Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or regulations. Use only batteries recommended by TOSHIBA as replacements. Do not remove the Battery Pack while the computer is in Standby mode.
