Type – Two IP types are supported: Static IP and Smart IP (DHCP), and they are explained below.   Static IP - In this type, you can configure IP Address/Gateway manually. Smart IP (DHCP) - In this type, if your Entertainment Adapter have connected to a router, your client will dynamically get an IP Address/Gateway from the router, otherwise the client will get a IP Address/Gateway in the same network as you set below. And this type is recommended.   IP Address - Enter the IP address of your Entertainment Adapter in dotted-decimal notation (factory default setting is 192. 168. 0. 254). Subnet Mask - An address code that determines the size of the network. Normally use 255. 255. 255. 0 as the subnet mask.  Note: 1. The IP parameters cannot be configured if you have chosen Smart IP (DHCP). In this situation the device will automatically configure the IP parameters appropriate to your need. If you are not familiar with the setting items in this page, it's strongly recommended to keep the provided default values, otherwise may result in lower wireless network performance or even can't work. If you choose Static IP, the domain name log in function won't work, and you have to use the IP you set to log in the Entertainment Adapter's web based utility. 3. 13 TL-WDN3200 N600 Universal Dual Band WiFi Entertainment Adapter with 4 Ports 4. 4. 2 Wireless Settings Selecting Advanced > Wireless Settings will enable you to configure the basic settings for your wireless network on the screen below (Figure 4-9). Figure 4-9 Wireless Settings         Main Router/AP Wi-Fi Network Name - The name of the wirless network this device is going to connect to. If the Wireless Security Type is WEP (ASCII), the length should be 5 or 13 characters. If the Wireless Security Type is WEP (Hexadecimal), the length should be 10 or 26 digits. 4. 4. 4 DHCP Settings This device is set up by default as a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, which provides the TCP/IP configuration for all the clients connected to this device in the LAN. The DHCP Server can be configured on the page (shown as Figure 4-12), only when you’ve set the Network LAN type as Static IP in Advanced ->LAN page.  Note: The DHCP Settings function cannot be configured if you have chosen Smart IP (DHCP) in Advanced -> LAN, in which situation the device will help you configure the DHCP automatically as you need. If you disable the Server, you must have another DHCP server within the LAN, or else you must configure the IP address of the clients manually. Start IP Address - This field specifies the first address in the IP Address pool. 192. 168. 0. 100 is the default start IP address. End IP Address - This field specifies the last address in the IP Address pool. 192. 168. 0. 199 is the default end IP address. Address Lease Time - The Address Lease Time is the length of time when a network user will be allowed to keep connected to this device with the current DHCP Address. Enter the amount of time (in minutes) the DHCP address will be "leased".
