If you use Trimble Survey Controller or Trimble Access to create a road with multiple templates, it is recommended that you include the same number of nodes on each side of the center line in each template. This ensures correct template transitioning when the data is imported into Trimble Business Center. Any "extra" nodes you need to create (to ensure the same number of nodes are included in each template) can have 0 (zero) offset distances from the nodes to which you want to transition. If this is not done, you will need to create the extra nodes in Trimble Business Center, again, with 0 (zero) offset distances from the nodes to which you want to transition. Corridors After creating a corridor, you may notice that surface triangles are connecting across cross-sections of the corridor, resulting in an imprecise surface (first figure below). To correct this problem, you can specify that the corridor is an alignment-based surface, which means that it is based on chainages and offsets rather than northing/easting coordinates. This will minimize the chance that the surface triangles connect across cross-sections of the corridor, resulting in a more precise surface (second image below). To specify that the corridor is an alignment-based surface, view the properties of the corridor in the Properties pane, and select Yes for the Alignment based surface option. Because this option can cause slower performance, you should consider keeping it turned off while creating corridors and templates. Then, if necessary, turn it on prior to reviewing or exporting the corridor.
