Introduction
These release notes contain information about the Trimble S6 Total Station firmware version R12. 2. 45. In a newly purchased instrument, Trimble S6 Total Station firmware version R12. 2. 45 is already installed from the factory. [. . . ] To upgrade your Trimble S6 Total Station to firmware version R12. 2. 45: 1. Download the file Trimble S6 Total Station Firmware R12. 2. 45. exe from www. trimble. com/trimbles6 and save it to a convenient location on your office computer. Connect a hirose 6-pin to PC USB cable (part number 73840001 or 738140019) from the instrument foot connector labeled COM to a USB port on the office computer. Ensure that the Trimble CU / Trimble TSC2 controller is removed and that you have a fully charged battery in the instrument. Run the file Trimble S6 Total Station Firmware R12. 2. 45. exe that you saved on the office computer to begin the firmware upgrade. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the upgrade.

Trimble Survey Pro software with TSX version 4. 3. 0 or later. Please check the release notes for the respective Trimble survey field software for more specific product information including operating system and Trimble office software requirements. IMPORTANT: This version of Trimble S6 Total Station firmware is not compatible with versions of Trimble survey field software older than those listed above Similarly, these versions of Trimble survey field software are not compatible with versions of the Trimble S6 Total Station firmware older than R5. 1. 6. New Features / Enhancements
The Trimble S6 Total Station firmware version R12. 2. 45 includes the following new features and enhancements: Improvements to the control loop that controls the center unit in the total station. These improvements are intended to avoid the possibility of vertical oscillation in the telescope - caused by changes (reductions) in friction as the telescope is moving.
