Introduction
These Release Notes describe the new features and changes in firmware version 2. 52 for the Trimble® SNB900 radio-modem since the SNB900 Radio-Modem Release Notes,  version 2. 50. Trimble recommends that you upgrade all SNB900 radios to firmware version 2. 52.

Upgrading firmware
You can use the WinFlash utility or a supported web browser to upgrade the radio to the latest firmware. To perform the upgrade,  download the file,  SNB900_v252_release. zfimg,  to your computer and then use the Upgrade Firmware page in the web interface. 

You can also use the WinFlash utility to configure the radio modem.

General changes
Modem port settings automated for Easy IP mode
The modem port configuration is now "hardcoded" by the firmware in the following manner:
If configured as an. . . Easy IP Rebroadcaster Easy IP any other mode besides Rebroadcaster the modem port will be set to. . . PPP CMR

The WinFlash utility no longer impacts on the modem port configuration when the SNB900 radio-modem is in Easy IP mode. Mode settings on the SNB900 radio-modem override any WinFlash configuration. The WinFlash utility continues to have control of the modem port configuration when the SNB900 radio-modem is configured for CMR mode.

Due to this automation,  analog modems are no longer supported from version 2. 52. This capability is no longer required since version 2. 50 now supports both Access point functionality ( for 2-way data) and NTRIP Client functionality ( for IBSS and Network RTK) in Easy IP Base modes.

Support for Bluetooth wireless technology
A new Bluetooth Module (PBA31308 v2. 01) replaces the existing module. If an SNB900 radio-modem has this new module installed,  the firmware downgrade limit will be set to version 2. 52 in the factory and will have version 2. 52 installed when shipped. The WinFlash utility continues to have control of the modem port configuration when the SNB900 radio-modem is configured for CMR mode.
