With it you can explore the capabilities and functionality of the TerraSync software by downloading the evaluation onto a desktop computer or on a Windows® CE device. Installation The TerraSync evaluation software is available in a desktop version and a Windows CE version. 1. 2 Windows Installation You can install the desktop version of the TerraSync evaluation software on a computer running any of the following Microsoft® operating systems: · · · Windows 95, 98, or Me Windows NT® or 2000 Windows XP or XP Tablet Edition 1. 2. 1 To install the desktop version of the TerraSync evaluation software: 1. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where you saved the setup file. Double-click this file to run the installation program. Before you install the TerraSync evaluation software, you must first install the latest version of the Microsoft ActiveSync® software on your desktop computer. The ActiveSync software is included on the Microsoft CD-ROM that was supplied with the device. Once the ActiveSync software is installed, connect your device to the desktop computer. In Windows Explorer on your desktop computer, go to the folder where you saved the setup file. Double-click this file to run the installation program. Follow the installation dialogs and enter appropriate details when necessary. B Tip ­ Set the communication settings in your Windows CE device to a high connection speed for optimal installation performance. 4 TerraSync Evaluation Software Release Notes Uninstalling To uninstall the TerraSync evaluation software from a desktop computer: 1. Click and select Settings / Control Panel / Add/ Remove Programs. Select TerraSync Evaluation from the list, and click Add/ Remove. 1. 2. 3 A message box appears, asking you to confirm that you want to remove the software. Click Yes to remove the TerraSync evaluation software. To uninstall the TerraSync evaluation software from a Windows CE device: 1.
