Typematic Rate Setting, Typematic Rate (Chars/sec), and Typematic Delay (Msec) The Typematic Rate Setting enables or disables the Typematic Rate and Typematic Rate Delay functions. The Typematic Rate (6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 24, or 30 characters per second) and Typematic Rate Delay (250, 500, 750, or 1000 milliseconds) control the speed at which a keystroke is repeated. The delay between when a key on the keyboard is pressed and when the character begins to appear repeatedly on screen is controlled by the Typematic Rate Delay. Once it has begun to repeat, the character appears at the speed set by the Typematic Rate.
