You can lock out that channel when you are more interested in the other channels for the current scanning session. When you lock out a channel, it is temporarily excluded from scanning, but it remains programmed so that you can easily unlock it for scanning later. It is best to select a narrow range, so that you have a better chance of finding all the active channels.
