Menu 4-2-2 Power On Time/Date Setting You can set the time/date when switch the phone on. Menu 4-3-4 User Text Display Set Time/Date Set Alarm Set Display Set Ok Back Menu 4-3-5 Menu 4-3 You can display your own greetings in Standby Mode. Phone Setting Key Backlight Menu 4-3-6 You can set how long the backlight of the keypad remains on after the last key is pressed. Backlight uses your battery faster. Language You can set the display language. The available languages are English & Spanish. Menu 4-3-1 LCD Backlight Menu 4-3-7 You can set how long the backlight of LCD remains on after the last key is pressed. the LCD Backlight feature allows you to conserve your battery power. Wallpaper Menu 4-3-2 Note : When you press a key or receive a call or message, the screen automatically turns on. You can set an image to be displayed on the LCD in Standby Mode. Time Display Menu 4-3-3 You can set time display to be displayed on the LCD in Standby Mode. 67 68 Phone Setting Security Alarm Set Display Set Security Ok Back Menu 4-4 Using this menu, you can activate the password for using the menu or phone. Phone Lock Menu 4-4-2 Using this menu, you can lock your phone to keep it from being used by unauthorized people. When the phone is locked, you cannot use any function. You are prompted to enter the password when you try to enter the menu or make a call after turning the phone on. The password is preset to "0000. " To change the password, refer to "Change Password" on the next page. PIN Code Menu 4-4-1 Using this menu, you can activate the use of the PIN (Personal Identification Number) code provided by your SIM card and change the code if possible. Phone Setting The following options are available : Power on : You can lock/unlock the phone when the power is on or the SIM card is changed. Immediately : You can immediately lock the phone. The following options are available : Enable PIN : When this option is selected, you must enter your PIN code each time you switch the phone on. Consequently, any person who does not have your PIN code cannot use your phone features without your approval, except to make emergency calls by pressing the soft key. Disable PIN : When the option is selected, you don't have to enter your PIN code when you switch the phone on. Your phone connects directly to the network when you switch it on. Fixed Dial Number Menu 4-4-3 Allows you to only make a call to the number you list up in FDN list. The following options are available : On/Off : Allows you to activate/deactivate this function. List : Allows you to see the FDN list you listed up. Add : Allows you to add phone numbers in the FDN list. Note : This menu is available only when your SIM card support FDN function. 69 70 Phone Setting Change Codes Menu 4-4-4 Default Set Display Set Security Default Set Ok Back Menu 4-5 The Change Code feature allows you to change your current phone password to a new one. Change PIN/PIN2 This option allows you to change your current PIN to a new one, provided that the Enable PIN feature is enabled. Enter the current PIN and press the soft key. This menu allows you to reset the phone. Resetting the phone restores the default value of all of the menu settings. Enter the 4-digit password and press the soft key. The default phone password is "0000. " For further details about the password, see page 70. Phone Setting 2. To clear the last entry, if necessary, press the soft key. The personnel there will assist you, and if necessary, arrange for service. 103 104 Warranty 12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY UTStarcom Personal Communications (the Company) warrants to the original retail purchaser of this UTStarcom handheld portable cellular telephone, that should this product or any part thereof during normal consumer usage and conditions, be proven defective in material or workmanship that results in product failure within the first twelve (12) month period from the date of purchase, such defect(s) will be repaired or replaced (with new or rebuilt parts) at the Company's option, without charge for parts or labor directly related to the defect(s).
