Power: The VZ-ROCK Series controller does not require batteries
or external power. Just plug the cable into the lens servo jack, and it's ready to use.
Tripod / Jib Mount: Your VZ-ROCK Series controller has a
clamping system for attaching to your tripod handle, shoulder support or crane/jib. (Extension cables are available in 10, 20, or 50 ft lengths).
Recording: Press the red "R" button to start and stop recording. Video Return:
"A" button allows you to see what is being recorded through the viewfinder.
Zoom: Your VZ-ROCK Series controller features dual speed controls. The rocker is fully variable and the knob on the side of the controller sets the maximum zoom speed for the rocker. With the dial turned completely clockwise, the rocker is fully variable so that you can go from the slowest crawl to the fastest speed attainable by your lens. As you turn the knob counter-clockwise the maximum speed for the rocker decreases, all the way down to zero (when turned fully counter-clockwise). You may wish to leave the dial turned up all the way or set a limited range so that you don't accidentally zoom too fast. Some users start the knob at zero and depress the rocker fully, then turn the knob slightly clockwise to creep in ever so slowly. You will quickly learn what works best for you through practice.
If your controller causes the lens to zoom on its own, you may need to calibrate the zoom rocker. To do so, first connect the controller to the lens normally. [. . . ] Please save your receipt and feel free to send us your comments and suggestions. Thanks!
