[. . . ] This user manual refers directly to the use and function of the MD4000 when connected to the approved head unit. s DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) DAB refers to Digital Audio Broadcasting, a system whereby several programs can be transmitted simultaneously on one frequency through the compression of digital audio signals. Unlike existing analog AM and FM broadcasts, DAB does not suffer from the same interference that can, on occasion spoil the listening pleasure of such AM and FM broadcasts. [. . . ] When PTY is selected the receiver will filter and select the program or programs if available that you wish to listen to. You will also have access to PAD (Program Associated Data) a service that provides more information regarding the current program type, content, title and artist. As the DAB uses an intelligent computerised receiver it will through utilising the DAB/FM switch automatically switch between DAB and FM broadcasts should the received signal deteriorate or if you move out of a DAB covered zone. GB 3 INSTALLATION Refer to the separate installation card. Before installation and mounting please ensure that all parts needed are present, and that you have the correct tools needed to complete the task.
