The DLD® Wide Range is a powerfully efficient VDO solution for vehicles on the road ­ because it makes short work of the legal downloading of mass memory and driver card data ­ anywhere and anytime, via GPRS (mobile wireless network). The files are downloaded from the DTCO ® to VDO's remote server via GPRS ­ so mass memory and driver card data can be downloaded 24/7, Europe-wide. The download process is controlled from the office PC, meaning that the company card can stay in the office ­ at no time does it have to be inserted in the DTCO®. i Advantages of data transfer via GPRS · You save on administrative costs ­ no staff are needed, because data download is carried out automatically at pre-defined intervals. The software uses a task list with pre-defined intervals, specifying when downloading is to take place. You can also use the RTM to create further download tasks. The task list is sent to the remote server once a day. The remote server transmits the relevant tasks each time a connection is established with the DLD® Wide Range. i This is how DLD ® Wide Range data transfer works: Authentication 1 The DLD ® establishes a connection between the DTCO ® and the RTM on the office PC 2 Authentication takes place between the company card and the DTCO ®. Data download 3 Secure data download from the DTCO ® to the DLD ® (driver cards and/or mass memory data), where the data is collected and encrypted. Data transfer 4 The DLD ® Wide Range transmits the encrypted data to the remote server via GPRS. 5 Data for TIS-Web® customers is transmitted directly to the TIS-Web® server via a secure Internet connection (https) ­ so it's immediately available for evaluation.
