You can create a Web page in which the item is converted to text or embedded as a JPEG image. PaperPort displays the link for the following HTML editors: Microsoft FrontPage, Claris HomePage, Adobe PageMill, and Netscape Navigator Gold's HTML editor if the HTML editor is installed on your computer. When you drag an item to one of these HTML editor links, the editor starts, and the PaperPort item appears in the HTML editor. You can set the preferences so that the item is converted to an image or text file in the HTML editor. For more information, see "Using an HTML Editor Link" on page 11. The FTP link lets you post PaperPort items and PaperPort-supported files to a selected FTP site. For more information, see "Sending and Getting Files from an FTP Site" on page 13. s USING A LINK Before you use a Web Publisher's Kit link, you must have the items you want to convert or move onto the PaperPort Desktop. You can get an item onto the PaperPort Desktop by scanning it or using a TWAIN device. On the PaperPort Desktop, you can use the link with the default preferences, or you can change the link's preferences to get different results. w NOTE: To see a link's preferences, right click the link icon. STARTING PAPERPORT To start PaperPort: · Double-click the PaperPort icon on the Windows desktop. The PaperPort Desktop automatically appears. w NOTE: If you start PaperPort and do not see the Web Publisher and other links, place the mouse pointer on the Link Bar, click the right mouse button, and choose Refresh Links. s ble nt Ta onte C of CREATING A WEB PAGE USING WEB PUBLISHER 7 CREATING A WEB PAGE USING WEB PUBLISHER Web Publisher can create a Web page from one item or a stack. You can control whether the item is converted to text or a JPEG image by setting the Web Publisher link preferences. For example, if you choose Image File, Web Publisher creates a page with a JPEG image of the PaperPort item. In the preferences, you can choose to save the item as either an image file or a text file when sending it to Web Publisher. To select the Web Publisher link preferences: 1. Position the mouse pointer on the Web Publisher link on the Link Bar and click the right-mouse button. The Web Publisher link preferences appear. 2. Select Image File to embed the PaperPort item as a JPEG image in the Web page. Or to convert the item to text and place the text in the Web page, select the Text File option. If you select Text File, click the OCR Settings button to change the OCR software options. The Options button displays the Web Publisher Options dialog box.
